The thing is, I have no idea how Buffy is supposed to have become this. She seems to have been going this way since the beginning of S8, but how she got there...? Either she had this in her or she didn't - there doesn't seem to be any textual argument that she has changed. (When She Was Bad had people freaking about her OOCness by, what, Act 1?)
