I think the problem is, what we may see as trashing is not necessarily what the writers (or other fans) see as trashing. I can guarantee you that the B/A contingent will think that Buffy is perfectly in character, and at this point, they may be right. The fact that it's a character I don't care for a lot is unfortunate for me, but...
