I don't even think I've read Bashfic that portrayed as so self-involved and childish.
I could point you to lots of such Bashfic, with Buffy as the bitchiest and most selfish harpy in the whole history of the human race, at 'Twisting the Hellmouth'. Almost all of it is Super!Xander fic written by educationally subnormal males with major self-image problems (one of them is the moron who I mentioned on my journal recently as having written a story in which Faith and Xander drive from Boston to Sunnydale in eight hours). Ah. Maybe that was Joss under an alias!
