I can totally see where you're coming from, but my personal viewing of the show's a little different.
And you're very right about all the global responsibility--which is why I like to have her off training Slayers somewhere but not being ~in charge and also bonding with Dawn and Faith and being in love with Spike. Which is why I write fic. As you well know.
. It's that life got worse in Season 8 and she really did regress. It reminds me of Angel in AtS Season 2--life gets really hard and he goes back to being Mr. Disconnected.
Sure, sure! But this is another reason I like her smiling at the end of "Chosen" as an ending for her. However, since Joss decided to write more, I like him exploring this stuff as long as it ends well. :D
