Irrationally Happy

ETA:  IT'S BEEN RENEWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know why news like this makes me all tingly and happy, but it does:  Prospects for Dollhouse are looking good.

"Fox's official decision could go down to the wire before Monday; will post updates this weekend if the winds shift, but as of Friday morning ... the rough draft plan of Fox's fall includes Joss Whedon's show. "

Yay!! Though now I'm going to be on the edge of my seat till Monday. I've tried not to care so much, but I keep coming back to wanting to know if it's going to be renewed.

Yeah, I keep thinking I'm OK if it doesn't come back, and then news like today's comes out and I'm hopping out of my chair and hooting and hollering and being quite silly. So I guess I care. :)

I'm a bit worried about the cost-cutting though - I can't work out what that means in American TV jargon...

Like I said on your LJ, I'm not so worried about it... though a lot depends on just how much cost-cutting they plan to do. Bottom line: Joss agreed, and I'd like to think he'd have taken his marbles and gone home if he didn't think he couldn't put out a show he is proud of.

And about the renewal. Yay!!!!!!!!! Yesterday was great. I did a lot of dancing and hopping around.

Joss posted in the huge thread on Whedonesque about the renewal:

Any thread that contains both "Shpadoinkle" and "Yub Yub" is truly exciting. And anything that reunites me with my stunning cast and my crazy staff (or "room fulla Tophers", as I call them) is nothing short of a gift. Heady times, indeed. We're two weeks away from finishing "Cabin" and now it looks like no summer vacation after all. But oh, the terrible things my brain is brewing... Just wait. We'll make it worth it.

Thanks for hanging in.

Hurray, what an unexpected break! :)
I'm glad it's renewed. It just started to heat up before the end, and I hope the best stuff is yet to come.

I think part of what makes me so happy is just that the networks would give a show like this a chance to unfold.

It was getting better and better -- so I'm quite hopeful that the show will just keep getting better.
